Although he’s not sitting at the coveted #1 spot on the Hot 100 chart, odds are Big Sean is celebrating all the same while his single “Bounce Back” settles in at #6, the highest position a single of his has ever attained in the course of his career.
The song comes from his recent album, I Decided., which actually did nab the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, selling over 151,000 equivalent album units in the first week.
The last time a single of his came this close to the top slot was in 2012, when “Dance (A$$)” with Nicki Minaj landed at #10 and in 2014, when “IDFWU” with E-40, hit #11. Combined with the song’s catchy hook and the religious symbology utilized in the video, “Bounce Back” has already racked up nearly 47 million views on YouTube.
Seven additional singles from I Decided. also charted on the Hot 100, including “No Favors” (featuring Eminem) at #22, “Moves” at #38, “Sacrifices (featuring Migos) at #70, “Halfway Off The Balcony” at #74, “Jump Out the Window” at #76, “Owe Me” at #86, and “Light (featuring Jeremih)” at #97. Now that’s something that deserves a “hallelujah.”
