Justin Bieber Gets Real About His Relationships With God, Adderall and Women: "I Don't Want to Be Held Down By Anything"

Very few singers shine as brightly as Justin Bieber However, for him there's a much greater power at play.
Though he's had a handful of run-ins with the law, the 21-year-old superstar asserts he wouldn't have been able to clean up his act and make a public comeback without the help of God.
"I feel like that's why I have a relationship with Him, because I need it. I suck by myself. Like, when I'm by myself and I feel like I have nothing to lean on? Terrible. Terrible person," he said in GQ.

"If I was doing this on my own, I would constantly be doing things that are, I mean, I still am doing things that are stupid, but... It just gives me some sort of hope and something to grasp onto, and a feeling of security, and a feeling of being wanted, and a feeling of being desired, and I feel like we can only get so much of that from a human."
As for his relationships with real-life people, they're a bit more complicated. To start, the "Sorry" crooner doesn't even have his own cell phone; an extra boundary to keep personal relationships at bay.
"I don't want people to feel like they can just get in contact with me that easy," he admitted.

He's reluctant to have to answer to any particular person, a concern that prevents Bieber from devoting himself to just one lady in his life to prevent future harm.
"I don't want to put anyone in a position where they feel like I'm only theirs, only to be hurt in the end. Right now in my life, I don't want to be held down by anything," he revealed. "I already have a lot that I have to commit to. A lot of responsibilities. I don't want to feel like the girl I love is an added responsibility."
Still, his Instagram makeouts with celebrity daughter Hailey Baldwin have kept fans and observers pining over a potentially solid new relationship for the singer. Though he's described her as "someone I really love," he's already worried about something going terribly awry.
"What if Hailey ends up being the girl I'm gonna marry, right? If I rush into anything, if I damage her, then it's always gonna be damaged. It's really hard to fix wounds like that. It's so hard.... I just don't want to hurt her," he debated. "I know that in the past I've hurt people and said things that I didn't mean to make them happy in the moment. So now I'm just more so looking at the future, making sure I'm not damaging them."
Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez
There's one particular person in Bieber's past that comes to mind—Selena Gomez. Though the former lovebirds have been formally broken up for years now, they still rely on each other when the going gets tough.
"We don't talk often, but we're cordial," he revealed. "If she needs something, I'm there for her. If I need something, she's there for me."
To battle his restlessness and inability to concentrate, Bieber has been taking Adderall, an ADHD treatment, "for about a year." However, much like serious romances, he's decided to stop cold turkey.
"I've been getting a lot of anxiety, and they think it's stemming from the Adderall," he added. "That's why I've stopped taking it. Or else I wouldn't stop, because I really enjoy it."
