Tech N9ne pointed to Scarface’s Deeply Rooted project while on the topic of best albums during a recent conversation with Unique Access Entertainment.
The Kansas City rapper applauded Scarface’s 2015 LP for its ability to showcase Face’s range of music.
“I know what he did on ‘Deeply Rooted’ let the world know that he can do any style of music,” Tech N9ne says. “He can drop knowledge [and] game. Everything is in there, man. Life lessons, everything. If the youngsters would just listen to ‘Deeply Rooted,’ man — maybe everything [on there] doesn’t apply to you if you’ve never been to jail or you’ve never been through anything with a relationship. Or if you’ve never been discrimated against or whatever, if none of that applies to you then you won’t get why I say Deeply Rooted is something.”
“There’s songs on there like ‘Voices’ I can hear that right behind a Taylor Swift song on Top 40 radio. It’s humongous just like that.”
Later in the conversation, Tech N9ne pleaded to the younger generation to not forget about the game’s veterans.
“It’s a young man’s game they say [but] people like us, me, Scarface, Jay Z, Nas, Eminem [and] whoever else are in their 40s – we killing young men. But at the same time we adore what they young men are doing. I just wish the younger generation that only listen to the young men, would listen to the muthafuckas that started this shit.”
