Ciara and Russell Wilson brought smiles to patients' faces at Seattle Children's Hospital Tuesday. The "I Bet" singer and I Can Do That cast member, 29, and Seattle Seahawks quarterback, 26, shared pictures from their visit via social media.
"They had such a beautiful time together at Seattle Children's Hospital. It was really meaningful for both Russell and Ciara," a source tells E! News exclusively. "Children and giving back are a big part of both of Russell and Ciara's lives. That trip also brought them very close. It was nice for Ciara to see how amazing Russell is with kids. They hope to make many more visits in the near future." Wilson spends as many Tuesdays as he can at the hospital, comforting the kids.
In one photo caption, Ciara wrote, George aka #TheFighter It Was So Much Fun Speaking Japanese With You And Your Mom. Praying For You." In another, the singer and Wilson posed with an adorable little girl. Aylinn You Betta Get Ready For Your Catwalk Down The Runway! You're So Beautiful!" Ciara wrote.
Wilson shared photos of himself "riding in the @JohnDeere with Calvin" and called a patient named Marlene "the next Picasso." The athlete is a team captain for Strong Against Cancer, an immunotherapy treatment for childhood cancer, developed at The Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research.
Last year, the Seattle Children's Hospital and Research Foundation launched a $100 million initiative to support research aimed at curing childhood cancer. Wilson agreed to be a team captain, and explained why he felt compelled to assist the foundation's efforts. "Annually, pediatric cancers receive less than 3 percent of the National Cancer Institute budget, which is why it's so important for all of us to support initiatives like Strong Against Cancer. The scientists working on immunotherapy have the treatment and the results to get us to a place where childhood cancer is no worse than a common virus," he said in a press release. "All that's needed now are the resources to bring it to every kid who needs it."
After Wilson's latest appearance, Strong Against Cancer tweeted, "Thank you @DangeRussWilson for inviting @ciara to join our #strongagainstcancerteam. What a great visit." Seattle Children's Hospital echoed the foundation's sentiments, tweeting, "Thank you @DangeRussWilson & @Ciara for a surprise, star-studded evening for our patients. Feeling starstruck."
Ciara responded soon after. "They Were The Real Stars! Their Bravery, Will, and Courage Touched Me In A Way I Can't Explain," she wrote. "I Am Thankful!"
