He put a ring on it!
It may have been Lakers player Nick Young's special birthday bash, but all eyes went to his leading lady Iggy Azalea when Swaggy P flipped the script and popped the question.
The athlete surprised friends and fans tonight when he proposed to the Aussie rapper during the party for his 30th birthday. Captured on video and then posted on Instagram, Young is seen going the traditional route and getting down on one knee while presenting a shocked Iggy with a big diamond ring.
"Would you marry me?" he asks, to which she of course responds, "Yes."
Cue the cheers!
"It was a beautiful celebration for Nick with only his close friends and family. Nick completely surprised Iggy with the proposal. She was shocked and so excited and emotional at the same time," a source tells E! News.
"Nick has known for a long time Iggy was the one for him, but he was just waiting on the perfect time to pop the question. They both have gotten very close these passed few months and he can't think of anyone else to spend his life with but her. One of the most important things about Iggy is the way she is to his son."
The Real's Jeannie Mai was also there to witness the joyous occasion, and posted a photo to her Instagram after the fact, writing, "BEST NIGHT EVER for@thenewclassic & @swaggyp1. Congratulations- praying #HappilyEverAfter over you both #HeProposed!!!"
The sweet couple have yet to take the news to their social media. Iggy did post an adorable black and white photo of the couple stealing a smooch earlier today:
"Growing up I always wanted to be married and have a family, and it's difficult. I ask [my parents] every day how they do it. It's a process," Young told Du Jourmagazine last year.
"Me and Iggy just bought a house. We've been getting really close lately. I've never been with somebody like this. So, I'm taking it as a challenge."
The pair are known for having quite the interesting first date. Azalea had previously revealed that her first outing with Nick was a trip to—wait for it—Target!
During an appearance on 105.1's morning show, The Breakfast Club, back in April 2014, Iggy explained how the unconventional first meeting came about.
"I was like 'Target is my favorite place! I want to go to Target,' so I made him [go]. You can learn so much about someone at Target!" she explained. "You can really get to know someone at Target, like what kind of quilts are you into, whats' your favorite movies? What kind of snacks do you like?"
Hey, it looks like they did it right. Congratulations to the happy couple!
